An infrastructure administrator is required by our emerging company, with an international market presence. The role will involve the management and monitoring of the system’s infrastructure of one of our clients. The chosen candidate will predominantly be working with Windows 2016 server, CentOS7 and other Linux equivalent. The system also runs VMware, so the candidate will also be working with vSphere 6.7.

The ideal candidate is expected to have knowledge and understanding of network principles, such as TCP/IP, DNS, SFTP, VLANS, and so on. Running and operating SQL Server 2016, both on Windows and Linux operating systems. Skills & knowledge for the handling & management for diverse databases used on the system amongst which are SQL Server 2016 & Postgres. Oracle knowledge would be an asset too. Knowledge and experience around scripting such as Powershell & Base Shell scripting are also a requirement for the role. Other nice to have would be experience or at least knowledge/interest in: Citrix Applications and Desktops, Nifi, ElasticSearch/Kibana/Logstash, Solarwinds, Thin Client Infrastructure, IBM SoftTrac Capture Suite, Java & Software frameworks such as Spring.

 

Most importantly the candidate needs to be prepared to travel as the job will be based mostly offshore (within EU, with provided accommodation and expenses) and be enthusiastic. Be able to work within a small team and be a role player, while also taking tasks ownership as required. Good communication skills and fluent English are a must. A 1 to 2 years of market experience in IT infrastructure would be ideal. The ideal candidate would be in possession of a tertiary education qualification related to Computer Science / Software Development. Any qualifications or seminars attended relating to the IT systems industry or any other related certifications will be considered as an asset.
